    Service 3/5
Food 5/5 - food made it a 5 star review
    Atmosphere 5/5

I've been told to go to Layla for the longest time and finally had the chance to experience it

Atmosphere was nice and cozy. Music was at a reasonable level and had a nice little outside portion if you wanted to enjoy the fall weather that is happening in town now.

Service was minimal. Didn't get the consistent refills as needed and after the long wait for drinks, our waitress disappeared and came back 10 minutes later to order our food even though we are already knew what we wanted when we ordered our drinks.
In her defense, she was also the bartender and had to do other prepping at the bar as well as waiting tables.

The food was awesome. Decided to try the shawarma with the Lebanese pit which was so so good. The lemon garlic, pickles and onions worked perfectly with the chicken and the tzatziki sauce to dip made it complete. In addition the fries were cooked perfectly and seasoned so well to compliment the curry aioli that I dipped them in.

In regards to drinks, I decided on getting a boozy shake which for the month was a pecan pie. Wish I could have had it brought out with the food because you could tasted the booze lol. I almost would have preferred it without the alcohol but it was delish.

Looking forward to getting a taste of Layla again soon.

Severely disappointed with the food. We arrived at Layla with high hopes after being recommended and the place been talked about multiple times in our social groups. Boy, was a disappointing experience. I won't be returning.

Me and my girlfriend got two burgers and two sets of fries. I got the sweet potato fries, she got the regular fries. They didn't have ranch for dipping which was a disappointment, especially because that's a staple.

Both burgers were dry. They seemed rushed and were not cooked well. The fries were salted and spiced too much which made then unable to eat. Her burger looked like a Big Mac but didn't even taste great for her.

I really don't get the hype. Two burgers and fries for $30? I said to my girlfriend that I would rather have had McDonalds.

I guess the silver lining was we didn't get drinks so at least we only paid $30?

Do not recommend -- go across the street to Grace Meat and Three.

I just came to Layla for the first time because I saw they were participating in the St. Louis Burger week. If you don't know what that is, you can get select burgers from sponsored restaurants for $6. It's a great deal, right? Wrong! I was charged extra for French fries, that would typically come with the burger. Then making it closer to the normal price of the burger. What's the point in doing this, if to get the full meal (like most people do), you have to pay extra for fries?

Also, when I called the order in, they told me it would be about 15 minutes. It took over 25 minutes.

This was my first time to Layla and probably my last.

Was a privilege to try this specialty burger/shawarma joint. Got the Time Bomb burger and was thoroughly impressed with all the flavoring. The bacon and sauces on it were exquisite and so was the massive onion ring, delicious! Prices are pretty steep in the burgers but they do come with a good portion of fries with it. Fantastic burger and can't wait to try their other combinations.

Amazing lentil veggie burger and the traditional hummus and pita is so good and so filling. Took home the leftovers and they were so good even microwaved.
